Ex-Voto * an offering made to a divinity in fulfillment of a promise or in gratitude for a favor received.
The ex-voto offerings arose in ancient times to attract the attention of higher forces. These offerings were deposited
in sanctuaries or places of worship and could consist of figurines representing suffering. The person in need
had to fulfill their promise to be able to receive the miracle and annul the normal development of natural laws.
